About: Ray Coleman is the sports director at 16 WAPT News. He is a graduate of Southern Mississippi with a bachelor’s degree in mass communications. A Jackson native, Ray has been involved in the magnolia state's sporting world for as long as he can remember. He lettered in three different varsity sports while attending St. Joseph Catholic School. He started off at 16 WAPT as a news photographer. Since joining the 16 WAPT family in 2006, Ray has won a number of AP Awards. His favorite sports to cover are basketball, boxing and football.
